SAFETY INTERSHIP OPPORTUNITY : Hanson Aggregates NY produces ready-mix concrete (RMC), Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and construction aggregates. We currently have an internship opportunity during the summer of 2019 for a detail-oriented, self -motivated student in our Syracuse, NY Office.
This opportunity is perfect for a student interested in gaining experience and knowledge in the safety aspects of the construction materials business. You will have the opportunity to learn about a stable industry as you work in multiple locations. What you?ll get to do:
+ Assist Safety Manager with safety audits, monitoring plant safety programs, initiatives, and compliance inspections
+ Assists with Industrial Hygiene monitoring
+ Review and assist compliance of safety data sheets
+ Assist documenting audit findings reports for distribution to operations management, and works with operations to implement controls
+ Assist the safety manager with routine aspects and continuous improvement initiatives
+ Any other duties as assigned
+ Work safely and follow all Federal and State laws and regulations as well as company and site specific policies
Who we are looking for:
+ Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college majoring in a safety program
+ Requires proficient knowledge of applicable tools and technologies to be used on the job including Word, Excel.
+ High level written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills
